Tenor Ukulele – LU21PS Soprano
The LU21PS Soprano Tenor Ukulele
The most popular and affordable range of the Lanikai collection is the LU series, and the LU21PS Soprano tenor ukulele is the only pineapple shaped one of the series.
This traditional Hawaiian shaped instrument is handcrafted with the top, back and sides created from Nato Wood; also known as Eastern Mahogany. The fingerboard (consisting of 12 frets, guitar-style) and bridge is crafted from Rosewood. The combination of these 2 woods, allows the LU21PS Soprano tenor ukulele to produce a mellow tone with an enhanced midrange, something that is not common amongst ukes in this price range. Playing this Lanikai greets you with a rich, fruity tone, and is a fun and exciting experience, whether you are a beginner or a more seasoned player.
The standard tuning for soprano tenor ukulele of G-B-E-A is also tuned for the LU21PS , while tuning it will be a breeze and very precise with the geared machine tuners. The tuners are Chromeo/Ivoriod, which are the best option for geared tuners. In terms of strings, you are looking at the sought after Italian Aquila Nylgut strings; a nylon catgut style hybrid. With good strings, good material and good tuning, you are bound to have good results, enhancing your playing experience, and this is what you get with the LU21PS Soprano tenor ukulele from Lanikai.
Size-wise you are looking at approximately 14” for this pineapple-shaped instrument, nestled between the normal 13” soprano size and the 15” concert size. Each tenor ukulele from the LU series, the LU21PS included, comes with a Lanikai Learn-to-Play Instruction Booklet, giving beginners an opportunity to hone their skills on their own. You will be wow-ing your friends with your balmy tunes before they know it.
